A Day with James
Yesterday, James didn't attend school as he had a toothache and would have to skip school in order to see the dentist.
Well.. it turned out to be a pretty swell day, one of the best we've had together.
We both woke up around the same time, and I headed to the laptop to check out the ticket to Kelantan - the ticket that I was buying but had problems with at the payment section. After that, tickets were quadruple the price.
James came in and after hearing about it, he asked me to leave it to the 'pro'. After keying in my details, THE ticket came up - at the price I missed yesterday. I bought it and we were both amazed!
After that, James helped dad set up both laptops Windows XP activation and JAWS. That took a pretty long time, but long enough for me to prepare a nice big breakfast for the both of us - toast bread, eggs, sausages and baked beans. Yup, more beans to make James' never-ending farts even more lethal!
I can't really remember what we did after that - probably hanging out at the living room, chit chatting? Then James starts asking what we'll eat for lunch - I was still full at that time!
So I cooked Maggi, and James came into the kitchen.. helping towards the end. In fact, I think he helped wash the pot and all that!
We got ready to bring him to the dentist nearby, and out of the house we were..
After the dentist, James and I went shopping at Giant. He was a typical guy, hurrying me to finish rather than enjoying browsing the varieties of stuff they offered. However, he carried the basket throughout the process and also most of the plastic bags. Mum has trained him well, I suppose.. Haha!
In fact, I sort of joked that he'll be paying half (before that, he said he had about forty ringgit - which made me assume he was going to contribute) - and when we got home, he handed me thirty ringgit (which was more than half) without me asking! When I said he doesn't have to pay, he insisted that I take it. To top that off, he helped unpack the groceries!
Last of all, after I had finished cooking and washing up... I hung out at the living room with James, dad and mum, who was sleeping. James asked "When are we eating?" and automatically went to the kitchen, set up the table and brought the food to the dining table. He even served rice!
I'm just so amazed.. yesterday has got to be the best I've seen of James. I've really been awestruck by the maturity, help and generosity he has shown yesterday. It made me wish James didn't have school everyday... but hey, then it wouldn't make yesterday as special.
But all in all, to God be all glory for the things He has done in James.. We used to never get along, but I'm really enjoying and appreciating his company, which often refused. Yesterday, I asked him to accompany me while I prepared food in the kitchen - he actually agreed and brought his homework there! I was so touched <3 br="">
Thank You Father, for the work You are doing in the family You have given me.. All good things come from You, oh Lord.. Maker of Heaven and Earth.3>
